This is a continuation of the previous posts. I am using the jelly roll Awesome...
I put a backing piece and front piece with right sides together with batting and sewed around the edge...
I left about a 6" space open to turn inside out and then stitched along the top edge...
I just quilted the pumpkin....not sure what else to quilt on the placemat...
I see the top left line in the pumpkin needs more of a curve in it....yikes...
I used a swirly orange fabric for the pumpkin which isn't part of the Awesome...
but the stem is part of the Awesome fabric line...
Here is the placemat before I put on the pumpkin...
This is another placemat I made...
I have tons of pairs of squares sewn together to make more projects...
These are a lot of fun and quick and very easy!

Halloween inspiration
This is the quilt I mentioned in my last post and the one that gave me inspiration to start a new project. It is a quilt that is on a resident's bed where I work.
I started sewing strips and then cut them into pieces. Today I sewed some light strips from the jelly roll for the center background and might make some placemats instead of a quilt.
Here is another quilt that is hanging on the wall behind her bed. She has such a cozy room and changes quilts with the seasons.

Jelly roll fun
I saw a small quilt on a resident's bed at work and I just had to start a new project..
The quilt had black squares with shiny stars alternating with fall colors....
and the center was an applique pumpkin with a black cat behind it....
I wish I would have taken a photo of it....
I searched through my stash and found black antique dots and I cut some 2 1/2" strips..
Then I used a jelly roll...Awesome by Sandy Gervais...
The first photo is with flash and the second one is not and shows the true colors....
It is fun to start a new project.....this might be something small....
We will see what it turns out to be!!

Fall decorating
I have collected a lot of fall and Halloween items over the years.....
This is the hall table as you come in the front door....
Some things are gifts, some purchases and some are things I have made...
This is in the dining room....
This is a tablerunner I purchased many years ago...
it is the one on the table in the first two photos...
It is reversible...it has Christmas on the other side...
These are just some of the decorations I have displayed...
Show me your decorations..........

Must get creative again
I haven't been quilting much lately and it feels good to get back to machine quilting today...
I also have a new computer and it has a different way to download photos...
In my last post I was checking how to post with this computer...
Since May I have been doing the hard work of losing weight and it has used up a lot of my energy...
Tracking every bite I eat and exercising more than I have in a long time!!!
I have been blogging at the WW site and it is time I devoted some time with this blog!

Quick HST table runner
Last week I showed the easy triangle tool...
I used 10 light and 10 dark charm squares...
I alternated them in a zigzag pattern....
I sewed them in long rows....
close up of the rows....
Then I sewed the rows together...
I added some red fabric for borders....
This is soooooo quick to make....
