This is a jellyroll quilt called Slice. It is from a tutorial by the fatquartershop.
It measures 40x40 and is very fun to make. I used Sandy Gervais WellSaid fabric.
The back is Winnie the Pooh fabric.
WARNING....this blog post has a lot of photos......
The next photos are quilts in progress by my friends from the retreat we went on the first part of December.
The following are some of the things I worked on at the retreat......
I used 4" pieces of fabric and did strip piecing and then added borders. I used mostly scraps of Laurel Burch fabrics I have had for awhile.
I put batting separate on the front and on the back and did quilting before I sewed them together.
I finished 6 of these for gifts after I got home from the retreat.
The following photo is the design wall placing charm squares for Oh My Stars quilt. Pattern is by Pat Sloan.
Here is a photo of the paint chips for Bonnie Hunter mystery plus fabric. We went to a fabric shop during the retreat and I found some more fabric for doing the Frolic quilt. Today Bonnie gave the 6th clue. There is still time to join in on the fun.
AND today is the last day for the early bird special for the Joanne Sharpe 2020 online class.
2020 Artfully Inspired Life. Painting...lettering....collages.......and more......VERY FUN!!!

Some finishes...friendship bag plus
I made some coasters with some scraps of fabric and gave one to my neighbor for her birthday. I have more in the process. I quilt the backing separate from the front and then join them right sides together and turn and topstitch.
I get such great inspiration from Joanne Sharpe and I made these accordian art projects from an idea she had on Whimspirations.
I even made one for my Weight Watcher reminders. These are made from watercolor paper and painted with watercolor paints and then markers to finish!

mini quilt and 4 coasters
I really like making these foundation pieced mini quilts and I just had to make another one. It is similar to the one last week and this is a little larger.
I do simple quilting around the blocks and I used varigated thread.
Here is the back before I quilted the front....
Here are four coasters I made from some string blocks I made from scraps of fabric. Some strips were only one inch wide and ended up ½" in the block or less. I usually like the look of straight line quilting but didn't like it on the first coaster....so on the others I changed to the #4 stitch at 3.5 wide and 1.5 length. The fronts and backs are each quilted separately and then right sides joined together and turned and top stitched. Very fun and very easy.
Here are the backs of the coasters....

I used jelly roll strips sewing two together
