Happy Fourth of July

I thought I would post some photos of some red white and blue quilt projects from the past....
I already added my strip tube ruler quilt at the top.

AND here is a dessert I used to make this time of year....(not making it this year)

Scrappy Trips quilt top

This past week I finally got all of the scrappy trips blocks together!!!
I used fabric lines by Sandy Gervais for all of the blocks.....

 This is the top left.....

 Here is the top right.....

 Here is the bottom left.....

 Here is the bottom right....

Here is a photo of the quilt more from the top of the quilt but the top rows are not in the photo...
It was hard getting the photo of the whole thing....
My hubby got the photo at the top of this post and it was actually the last photo we got...
He got it by standing on a ladder to get all of the quilt in the photo....

Pat Sloan got me going this month to sew every day.....
I will be posting another time about my other projects I am working on....

64 blocks for scrappy trips quilt

 I have posted a photo of each block I have made for my scrappy trips quilt.....

 I started these blocks in January and have certainly enjoyed putting all of them together....

 I used Sandy Gervais fabrics for all of the blocks.....

Here is the last block.....sad in a way as it has been so fun...........
Bonnie Hunter at Quiltville has the directions for the scrappy trip around the world...

Here are some of the blocks on my LR floor.....
Taking photos is a good way to see what blocks look best together....
I just layed blocks down to see what happens...
I have a lot of major changing blocks around to find the best placement....
Such great fun!!!!.......

Scrappy trips blocks 57 through 60

 I am getting close to having all of the scrappy trips blocks done....

 These are for my scrappy trip around the world quilt using a tutorial from Bonnie Hunter.....

This quilt will have all Sandy Gervais fabrics in the blocks....

I am working on the last four blocks and I will post when they are finished....

The flickr group is growing and it is fun to see what others are doing....
I think everyone should join in the fun.........

scrappy trips blocks 53 through 56

 It is time to show some more scrappy trips blocks...

 I have changed to putting the dark blocks in a different place on the block...
going from top left to bottom right............

 I am still continuing with all Sandy Gervais fabrics in these blocks...

It is a lot of fun to see other scrappy trips quilts all over the internet and flickr!!

adding another jelly roll for more scrappy trips blocks

 In this post are blocks 49 through 52........

 I opened another jelly roll....Flirt by Sandy Gervais..........

 These are a lot lighter in color....but I love the variety of all the blocks so far!

 I decided to start adding in the other jelly roll fabric lines with the Flirt...

Finally I discovered if I sew the strips of blocks in a reverse order...then I have the dark going the opposite way.....and I will need it going that way in half of the blocks....
I can also turn the blocks to the side to get the dark to go from top left to lower right...
I am still having fun with these and enjoying this process with no rush......

scrappy trips blocks 46 through 48

 This is one of my favorite blocks of my scrappy trips blocks so far....

 I am mixing up the different fabric lines of Sandy Gervais jelly rolls....

I have ordered a new Sandy Gervais jelly roll and can't wait to get it....
I thought I needed another fabric line to add to this quilt............

The flickr group Scrappy Trip Along now has grown to 1,033 members...
such fun to see all the colorful quilts.....

 Continuing on with showing my blocks for my scrappy trip around the world quilt....
I am mixing up Sandy Gervais fabric lines in each block now instead of keeping each block in the same fabric line as I did at the beginning............

 Scrappy trips around the world blocks......red, white and bold by Sandy Gervais....

And this block is Lollipop by Sandy Gervais............
I should be able to get 12 or 13 blocks out of each jelly roll.......
Let me know if you are doing this scrappy trips too...so I can go look at yours....

 Jelly roll of Red, White and Bold by Sandy Gervais..............

 This is ONE of my favorite lines that Sandy Gervais has done so far....

Several years ago I made a quilt using the strip tube ruler using the RWB line...

 

I decided I will keep using my jelly rolls for this quilt....

I think this would be fun for a beginner quilter to do this quilt....

It is so fun and easy and perfect for January when I just want to sew!!!
